Job Description: 

The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, performance tuning, and security of Oracle database systems. This role involves ensuring the integrity and availability of data, as well as optimizing database performance to meet the needs of various applications and users within the organization.  

Responsibilities: 

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products. 
• Configure database parameters and ensure optimal performance. 
• Monitor database performance and capacity, identifying and resolving issues proactively. 
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and database refreshes. 
• Conduct regular health checks and implement performance tuning strategies to optimize database performance. 
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies. 
• Test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. 
• Collaborate with application developers and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues. 
• Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls. 
• Analyze database performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. 
• Implement database tuning techniques to improve response times and throughput. 
• Generate regular reports on database performance, capacity, and availability. 

Qualifications: 

• 3 -8 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator  

• Proficiency in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. 
• Should have experience in patching, Golden Gate, Sessions, Schema objects, Configuration changes and DB validation. 
• Should have experience in Log / AWR Report checks. 
• Strong knowledge of database security principles and best practices. 
• Good Exposure in MYSQL DBA or MSSQL DBA is an added advantage. 
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures, as well as disaster recovery planning. 
• Familiarity with performance tuning techniques and tools. 
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
