About the client
A leading health insurance provider in India embarked on a cloud modernization initiative to migrate its legacy on-premises infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The objective was to build a secure, scalable, and cloud-native platform capable of supporting its growing microservices ecosystem while improving operational agility and customer experience.
Following the migration, the organization partnered with 1CloudHub to provide 24×7 Managed Cloud Services, ensuring continuous monitoring, governance, security, and optimization across its AWS environment.
Existing Challenge:
While AWS migration established a modern cloud foundation, managing cloud-native workloads across multiple environments introduced new operational complexities.
The organization required continuous monitoring, proactive security, cost optimization, ITIL-based governance, automated deployments, and robust backup and disaster recovery capabilities to ensure reliable operations and business continuity.
Without a structured operational framework, maintaining performance, compliance, and cost efficiency at scale would become increasingly challenging.
Our Approach and Solution:
1CloudHub partnered with the organization to establish a fully managed cloud operating model built on AWS best practices, ITIL-aligned operational processes, and continuous optimization.
The Managed Cloud Services framework included the following components:
1. Cloud-Native Infrastructure Operations
A secure AWS Landing Zone was established with dedicated Development, SIT, UAT, and Production environments.
Applications were containerized and deployed on Amazon EKS, providing a scalable and highly available platform for microservices while aligning with AWS best practices for governance and security.
2. Monitoring & Observability
A centralized monitoring framework was implemented using:
- Amazon CloudWatch
- CloudWatch Container Insights
- Prometheus
- Grafana
This provided complete visibility into infrastructure health, Kubernetes clusters, application performance, and operational logs, enabling proactive issue detection and faster incident response.
3. ITIL-Based Service Management
Structured operational governance was introduced through:
- Incident Management
- Change Enablement
- Service Request Management
- Governance Reviews
These ITIL-aligned processes standardized operational workflows while improving service reliability and reducing operational risk.
4. Security & Compliance
To strengthen cloud security and governance, 1CloudHub implemented:
- AWS IAM
- Amazon VPC network isolation
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- AWS Security Hub
- Amazon GuardDuty
- Automated patch management
These controls improved security posture while supporting regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
5. Backup & Disaster Recovery
Business continuity was strengthened using:
- AWS Backup
- Amazon S3 Versioning
- Lifecycle Policies
Automated backup scheduling and retention ensured reliable recovery while reducing operational overhead.
6. Cost Optimization & Automation
Continuous optimization initiatives included:
- AWS Savings Plans
- Auto Scaling
- Cost visibility dashboards
- Resource optimization
- CI/CD automation
Automated deployment pipelines significantly reduced manual effort while improving deployment consistency and accelerating software delivery.
Services Used:
Identity & Governance
- AWS IAM Identity Center
- AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- AWS Organizations

Amazon EKS, Auto Scaling, and a multi-account AWS Landing Zone enabled the organization to dynamically scale workloads while maintaining high availability across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production environments.
✔ 90% Reduction in Manual Deployment Effort
Fully automated CI/CD pipelines accelerated application delivery while ensuring consistency across environments, reducing manual deployment effort by 90%.
✔ Approximately $3,500 Monthly Cloud Savings
Continuous optimization initiatives—including AWS Savings Plans, Auto Scaling, storage optimization, and improved resource utilization—generated approximately $3,500 in recurring monthly savings while maintaining application performance.
✔ 24×7 Managed Operations
Continuous monitoring, proactive incident response, and ongoing operational support improved system reliability while reducing administrative overhead for internal IT teams.
✔ Strengthened Governance
ITIL-based operational processes and automated compliance reporting improved governance across cloud operations, ensuring structured incident management and controlled change implementation.
✔ Faster Incident & Change Management
Integration between Grafana and the organization’s ITSM platform enabled automated incident creation, structured escalation workflows, and streamlined Change Advisory Board (CAB) approvals, improving operational responsiveness and reducing service disruption.
Conclusion:
Through AWS Managed Cloud Services, 1CloudHub helped the organization transform its cloud operations into a secure, resilient, and highly optimized environment. By combining proactive monitoring, automation, governance, and continuous optimization, the organization improved operational efficiency, reduced cloud costs, and established a scalable foundation for future growth.
